چکیده
Abstract In the framework of SAFELAND project, a Low-Fidelity Simulation (LFS) tool was developed and applied in collaboration with SAFEMODE project. This allows preliminary evaluation system under development during its early stages, being an intermediate step between concept other hands-on simulation activities, such as Real-Time Simulations (RTS). The LFS is simpler less costly than RTS, but already involves final users immersive human-in-the-loop activities to experience at low level maturity, identifying key issues roles, procedures, human-automation interaction operational evaluation. Therefore, carried out provide first understanding assessment different aspects feasibility core ideas regarding operations, which addresses incapacitation landing Single Pilot operated aircraft support Ground Station. Despite limitations console slide deck activity itself, engagement perceived high by involved participants considered valuable for new concept. this way, points were uncovered better understood both execution LFS, example: workload, situational awareness, responsibilities, procedures. Broader also explored, dynamic on-board pilot ground station pilot, addition that pilots Air Traffic Control (ATC).

Training for shoulder dystocia: a trial of simulation using low-fidelity and high-fidelity mannequins.
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effectiveness of simulation training for shoulder dystocia management and compare training using a high-fidelity mannequin with that using traditional devices. METHODS Training was undertaken in six hospitals and a medical simulation center in the United Kingdom. Midwives and obstetricians working for participating hospitals were eligible for inclusion. One hundred f...
متن کاملAssessing Pilot Workload in Single-Pilot Operations with Advanced Autonomy
The proposed transition to single-pilot operations (SPO) in commercial and military aircraft has motivated the development of advanced autonomy systems. However, a detailed analysis of the impact of advanced autonomy on pilot workload through various phases of flight and contingency scenarios has not been conducted. To this end, this paper presents the development of the Pilot-Autonomy Workload...
متن کاملAir accidents, pilot experience, and disease-related inflight sudden incapacitation.
The epidemiology of sudden death, the etiology of inflight sudden incapacitation, and the influence of pilot age and experience on air accident rates are reviewed in order to determine the aeromedical emphasis needed to minimize accidents. Sudden deaths in men over age 35 are nearly all due to coronary artery disease, whereas in those under 35 years they are mostly due to hypertrophic cardiomyo...
متن کاملFlexible Process Enactment Using Low-Fidelity Models
Attempts to extend process enactment to support dynamic, knowledge intensive activities have not been as successful as workflow for routine business processes. In part this is due to the dynamic nature of knowledge-intensive work: the tasks performed change continually in response to the knowledge developed by those tasks. Also, knowledge work involves significant informal communications, which...
متن کاملLow- to high-fidelity simulation - a continuum of medical education?
CONTEXT Changes in medical training and culture have reduced the acceptability of the traditional apprenticeship style training in medicine and influenced the growth of clinical skills training. Simulation is an educational technique that allows interactive, and at times immersive, activity by recreating all or part of a clinical experience without exposing patients to the associated risks. The...
